I really like the opportunity of saying a little something about something... pets... stairs... shared spaces... dining area... etc.
However, I see three challenges.
- It is completely unclear (to me) where (website and specific location) this data will be used.
- Therefore, I do not know whether or not I want to spend the time filling out all of the extra fields, not knowing if/where/when they're used.
- There are seemingly sites with a much lower character limit than the 1000 characters noted in OR.
This results in incomplete and unprofessional-looking listings like this:
I was looking to use the 1000 characters allowed in OR to clarify our pet policy, but we can see what happened.
That said, it would be nice to know where and how these descriptions are used across each platform and what the character limitation is for each. Frankly, I think it would be far better to allow a similar solution as descriptions, even allowing the creation of override tabs so we can create the perfect message for each platform. And in the meantime, a less desirable solution but fair nonetheless would be to limit the character count to the lowest common denominator of where they are used.
