This was released earlier today! You can do so on the Rate Calendar. Select the dates you want to disallow a changeover. In the Set Rules dropdown, select Changeover. Then you can select "Gap required (no same-day changeover)" Which will allow a booking to either check in or check out that day, but not both (allows a booking to stay across also).
Stay tuned to the blog to learn more about it in the next few business days!
Our standard setting is NOT to have a changeover gap. Throughout the majority of the year, we want those back-to-back bookings. Occasionally we have need, however, for forcing a 1-night gap between bookings, such as when we need to plan ahead for when significant number of team members will be on vacation, etc. We could really utilize this option within OR rather than having to stick with a singular gap setting at all times.
I agree. It would be nice if there was automatic functionality that if someone booked to arrive or depart on a date (desired holidays could be selected or specific dates added) the system would then disallow a booking for departure or arrival on the same day.
I realized this because someone booked to depart on Thanksgiving day. Then a few days later someone booked to arrive on Thanksgiving day which my housekeeper could not accommodate. Luckily I was able to find a trusted replacement but I won't always be able to do that. This of course can be done manually but automatic functionality would be super awesome in case one forgets to do so automatically or doesn't realize the booking is for arrival/departure on a holiday or other date which may be difficult for managers and staff to accommodate.
Cheers!
