This feature has been released. You can now add per-channel overrides as needed - navigate to Property's Description area.

Given that each OTA has its own specifications for titles, as well as different audiences, it would be great to add the ability for us to use a different title free service.

For Instants, I total for AirBNB and a different title for Vrbo and you had another title for booking.com.

Unless I’m missing something it seems like this could easily be accomplished in the description section.

In the case of Airbnb, you already can, because, as you note, it has very different requirements.

Just found that you and I went back-n-forth on this a year ago. I had forgotten I had previously suggested it. Still no solution?

PS: sorry for duplicating my feature request

A current example is that we are discounting our Vrbo listings to try to build more business from them. We have all the discounts and such setup and it is working fine. I would REALLY like to add it to the title, like "ALL MAY STAYS 20% OFF - Secluded Cabin, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, King bed". But if I put that in, it will show up on AirBNB and the website too. Obviously we don't want that.

Given that Vrbo has an 8 char limit and AirBNB shows as 255 in the Field list, how can we take advantage of those? Cannot put more than 80 in the Property Description Headline as OR generates an error message about a max of 80.

I just checked the Airbnb docs and they've recently updated the max headline to 50 chars. I don't think they're fully validating it yet, but I would recommend working with shorter headlines -- they are more eye catching that way anyways.

We'll get that doc updated.

The 50-char limit makes this even more important.

And I have to respectfully disagree on the valuenof a shorter heading. Guest scan search results and title is the 2nd best way to grab them with the property features (photo is #1).

We experimented on our listings and we found engagement and click-thru much higher with longer titles. I believe this is mostly due to the markets we are in being so large. The OTAs, especially AirBNB, don't seem to really understand large vacation markets.

Guest profiles (avatars) for OTAs are different too. Vrbo more family oriented, larger groups than AirBNB. So we need different titles.

Yes, we've seen many use cases for defining separate headlines and/or descriptions for each OTA. We're planning to release a new feature to support that. We're really close, but I can't give an ETA.

Hi,

Is there any update on this feature? with ABB now actively blocking >50 characters and not allowing emoji, this would be really valuable. Effectively forcing ABB's title rules on Vrbo at the moment. Is there any way to do a workaround on this, or update on when this feature will be released?

thanks,

D

Yep, the per channel description feature has been developed and is now in testing. I don't have a specific ETA yet, but it's getting close!

Great implementation - just as I would have done it. Love that description fields are now able to be referenced too. And the previews! Everything I asked for!

Nice job by the OR Team!!
