Hello all! We have some exciting news (that happens to coincide with Vacation Rental Week 2024). Google Vacation Rentals is now self-service for all users! We wanted to get the word out as soon as possible, but more details are coming in a Product Update blog post later this week. In the meantime, you can read on for a few details and use the links to the current support articles for more information.
We thank those who participated in the Private Beta to help us make it a robust integration!
Please note:
1. Once you turn on Google Vacation Rentals, it's a 2-3 week wait on the Google side before your listing(s) start showing up.
2. Users are no longer required to have an OwnerRez Hosted Website (premium feature) to use Google Vacation Rentals. If you turned on a Hosted Website just for GVR, you no longer need it, unless you want to keep it. Instead, we have released a "The OwnerRez global landing page" option under the Google Vacation Rentals API settings. Prospective guests will be sent to this new landing page where they can see the quote details of the dates they've selected; they can change any of those selections before they click "Book Now," which will send them to the current guest quote acceptance booking form. It will also show any branding you have set up under Theming. Here's a screenshot below of what it looks like, generally.
3. If you have a hosted website and want to use it, you can. You are not required to use the global landing page option.

Google Vacation Rentals Overview
Ken and Paul, I am not understanding why a website like mine that is using the OR widget for pricing and booking is any different from that on the hosted sites. As far as I can tell, it is exactly the same. Can you explain?
May we please get an answer to this question?

I am not Ken or Paul, but as I understand it (and support can correct me if I am mistaken) in some cases the 3rd party website builders use "iframe within iframe"
set up. In such case, Google cannot successfully pass the parameters into the widget hosted by such 3rd party website. Goog cannot validate price accuracy, which is not the experience that Goog wants users to have. something along those lines.
**Beta Test Status Update**
We are nearly done reviewing all accounts on the GVR API Beta Test waitlist. Accounts with concerning complexities have been escalated for a deeper dig into the discounts/surcharges/seasons to be sure pricing accuracy is not negatively impacted.
We are happy to welcome more users to the Beta test. If you've not yet signed up for the Beta waitlist, feel free to write in to Help@OwnerRez.com and include "Google Vacation Rental Beta" in your subject line.
Note that you will be required to subscribe to the OwnerRez Hosted Website premium feature, if you aren't already using that. We are continuing to work on improvements to the GVR integration to remove this requirement in the future. If you already have your own website that isn't an OwnerRez Hosted Website, you are not required to replace or disable it in any way - you just have to have an OwnerRez Hosted Website in addition, for the use of GVR.
Thanks for update on Google. I have my own website with widgets being used and have no plans to go to OR Hosted.
Am I understanding this correctly:
1. If I pay for hosted site, I can be part of the Beta.
2. I pay for it but I do not have to set up anything or use a OR hosted site....or are you saying I have to have a separate website (OR hosted) just for reservations?
Thanks
Shasta Lakeshore Retreat
Google Vacation Rental users must use an OwnerRez hosted site for their "landing page" with Google.
*If you use an OwnerRez hosted site for your website, that happens automatically.
*If you use a custom site, you can still join the Beta (assuming the account setup passes our internal review), though you would need to pay to activate OwnerRez hosted sites to have that landing page. A subdomain of your custom site is created for a Google landing page. Once the OwnerRez global landing page is released, you will no longer need to use that hosted site feature.
Non-GVR guests will continue to use your existing website without changes.
Hi Adria, How can I become part of the beta with GVR? Longtime Owner rez user!
Thanks!
Susan
When OwnerRez global landing page will be released?
The planned release of the global landing page and public Beta for all is by the end of March!

Google Vacation Rentals Overview
Fantastic news, thank you so much for all the hard work.
I was curious and just tried to add this channel when i see this error
Yes, i did see in the documentation that taxes cannot be ordered. How do i fix this?
I was hoping OR would just "de-orddered" (that's not a word right?) the taxes in case of GVR or allow in the config page to set the taxes in a different way. I hope i made sense here
Thanks, Alin. We're looking into what is causing that.
I went to go enable this and received a number of errors. The main one is related to the fact I can't enable one property at a time, it wants all properties to be connected and since not all properties have met the requirements list, it fails. How can I enable the channel for just one property? Can't we connect the channel multiple times if needed like airbnb and others allow?
UPDATE: It appears based on the instructions you can: https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/google-vacation-rentals-setup-connecting but during first connection you are unable to limit what properties it validates.
I get this error for all of our properties...

Pet fees aren't allowed by GVR, go into your surcharges and excluded them from the Google listing channel (https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/google-vacation-rentals-setup-connecting)

Thanks, Chris. We're looking into this one as well.
When selecting the OwnerRez global landing page (instead of my gvr hosted site), it gives me this error.
Hi
UPDATE: I figured it out. GVR does not allow pet fees, so I removed them.
I am pet friendly and when I try to connect, I get an error message saying “extra guest fees must be per night”. This is in relation to the pet fees that I charge which are $100 per pet for the duration of the stay.
How do I correct this? I do not want to make my pet fee a per night fee.
thanks!

GVR does not support per-stay pet fees.
We've pushed out a couple of tweaks.
Alin S, tdblanchard, NickV, Lauren J - please try again.
Notes:
Chris O - we're still looking into this issue. It may take a few days for us to formulate the best fix.
Thanks,
Shawn
Hello Shawn,
I’m using a hosted website with all my properties listed under one roof but prices display as unavailable on GVR for some of my properties even though dates selected are available. What can be the problem? Thanks!
