Adding a blog to your website can help increase traffic, build your brand, and share news with followers of your vacation rental business.
Add a Blog
Users can add a blog to their Hosted Website by navigating to Settings > My Website > Hosted Website > the specific Hosted Website > the Menu & Pages tab > + Create Page > Blog.
While not yet published or live, your new blog will now appear in the list of your Hosted Website web pages.
Write Blog Post
Blogs will not be live on Hosted Websites until the first blog post is published. Users can write and publish their first blog post by navigating to Settings > My Website > Hosted Website > the specific Hosted Website > the Blog tab > + Write Post.
On the Create Blog Post page, users enter the blog post title, published date and body of their blog post. Click Save.
And potential guests can view your new Blog!
Users can select a Category (if configured) when each blog post is written.
Users can add a Masthead and/or Teaser image when each blog post is written.
Potential guests will be able to view and sort by Category on your Blog and your Teaser images will be displayed.
Categories
While not necessary, adding Categories to your blog helps with organization. Even if you already have published blog posts, you can still go back and edit each blog post to include a Category.
Users can add Blog Categories by navigating to their Hosted Website > the Blog tab > Manage Categories.
On the Manage Categories page, users can add specific topics or categories by clicking on + Add Category. You can also add Header and Teaser Images for each Category.
Masthead
Masthead images, or Header images, can be added to Categories or individual Blog posts and appear on each individual Blog post.
Teaser
Square Teaser images can be added to Categories or individual Blog posts and appear on Hosted Websites Blog pages.
While not necessary, users can also add Teaser text to each blog post. At the bottom of each blog post, users can add Teaser text to customize the look of the blog post on your Blog.
And the Teaser Intro text now appears on your Hosted Website Blog page.
