Onboarding with Vacation Rent Payment is a simple three-step process:

Step 1: Underwriting

Upon submission of your application, one of our Account Executives will contact you and begin your onboarding. After that, you will undergo an underwriting review, during which we may request financial documentation about your business.

  • Typical document requests include:
    • W-9.
    • Beneficial Ownership details.
    • Personal details such as SSN, address etc.
    • Voided check.
  • If your business has operated for less than a year:
    • Business reg doc IRS147C.
    • 2 months merchant statements or 2 x fully executed property management agreements.
  • If your total processing volume is between $500k and $2M:
    • 2 month’s worth of merchant processing statements.
  • For businesses transacting over $2M:
    • 2 years’ worth of audited financial statements/tax returns.

Step 2: Account provisioning

On completion of underwriting, your VacationRentPayment portal will be built by our Account and Provisioning team.

Here, they will set up your account and produce the required login details to configure your OwnerRez integration.

Step 3: Email containing your API Credentials

Finally, you’ll receive an email with your API credentials. These credentials are unique to you and should be stored securely, as you’ll need them to configure your OwnerRez integration.

How long does onboarding take?

Onboarding typically takes between 3-5 days, depending on documentation being readily available and shared with us.

Setup & Connecting VRP

Once you’ve been provisioned and received your API credentials, it’s time to configure your OwnerRez VRP integration.

While logged into OwnerRez, navigate to Settings > Financial > Payment Methods > Connect VRP.

Navigate to Settings > Financial > Payment Methods > Connect VRP.On the VRP Payment Method page, you will be prompted to enter your VRP API credentials that were supplied to you in your onboarding email. Enter those credentials exactly as supplied.

  • Configure your Accepted Card Types.
  • Customize your Credit Card Statement text as desired.
  • Select your properties.
  • Click Save.

 VRP Payment Method

While the connection is complete, we strongly recommend performing a payment test to confirm that your VRP integration has been successful.

Test, Test, Test

We recommend testing your API connection with a real payment.

To test your connection, create a manual booking and collect a payment using your personal credit card and a nominal amount of less than $10. Once the payment is processed and you’re happy that the connection is working, use the Void & Delete option to void the payment.

Following the void of the payment, we suggest you then cancel or delete the booking.

Common Issues & Questions

Can I void a transaction?

OwnerRez users should follow the instructions to process a Cancellation Within 24 Hours of Booking, but for a definitive answer about handling your payment processor, see VRP's How can I issue refunds to my guest? knowledge base article.
